SYNOPIS : Lime columns were installed by in situ mixing lime slurry with soft Bangkok Clay. Size of the column is 0.5 m. in diameter and 10 m. in maximum length. Lime content in the column is 10 to 12 percent by weight of dry soil and water lime ratio is 1 by weight. Rate of driving the mixing tool into subsoil is 0.5 meter per minute and rotation of the tool is about 60 revolution per minute. After the installation of the lime column the vertical and horizontal load tests were carried out loading resistance is 2 and 6 tons for the age of curing of 1 and 6 months, respectively.
